Chelsea Jacobs, M.D.

Dr. Jacobs grew up in Durham, North Carolina. She completed her undergraduate studies at North Carolina State University and Elon University where she focused her studies on nutrition. After college, Dr. Jacobs spent one year working in a lab at the University of Florida studying the effects of the gut microbiome on various diseases. She then went on to attend medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine where she graduated first in her class. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Florida and gastroenterology fellowship at Indiana University.
Dr. Jacobs specializes in addressing a spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions, with a particular emphasis on diseases of the esophagus, small bowel, and colon. Her comprehensive approach to patient care encompasses a range of procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and capsule endoscopy. She additionally has an interest in complementary and alternative medical therapies.
Dr. Jacobs is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Jacobs enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. Together, they enjoy activities such as gardening, hiking, camping, and exploring North Carolina through its food.
