Matthew Meyers, M.D.
Board Certified Gastroenterologist
Dr. Meyers was born in San Francisco, California but soon moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he grew up. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his undergraduate degree, studying Nutrition and Public Health. He remained at UNC for medical school. While there, he completed one year of clinical rotations in Asheville, North Carolina, a place he has always hoped to return to after training. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center before finishing two fellowships in both Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Meyers specializes in all aspects of general gastroenterology and digestive disease with an additional interest in caring for patients with advanced liver disease. He performs upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and hemorrhoidal banding. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
In his free time, Dr. Meyers enjoys hiking, trail running, biking, live music, cooking, traveling, UNC basketball, and spending time with his family and friends.
